Here is my Mother's Day cake! I loved the way the flowers turned out. Ignore the little bubble that formed in the fondant. It still tasted yummy! And I loved the colors!

Baby Showers!

The Pregnant belly Cake! This is one of my favorite cakes! Its just so funny! No I did not come up with this cake idea.. Alex had made one previously. A lady in my ward was having a baby shower for her little baby boy. I made the cake for the shower.
Here it is from a different angle.
This owl was for a little baby girl shower. I had made my first owl cake for my nieces 1st birthday back in March. I don't have a picture of it on my computer but this one turned out better. My aunt Laura had told a friend of a friend about the previous Owl cake I had made and someone wanted to buy one from me! It was so exciting.. I sold my first Cake!

Every little feather had detail.. My hubby Matt thought we should add to. He actually took over all the detail work :)
I thought it was so cute that he wanted to help me!

My First Cake

So my husband loves to hunt! I decided that I wanted to bake a cake of just that. I made the fondant and set out to my moms house. My mom, sisters, and Little brother were there to help. We worked on this cake for about 4 hours.. and HA HA boy is it funny. Some new inside jokes came about as we were making this cake. It was fun spending time with everyone who helped. Matt really liked the cake which is what I was aiming for. I tried doing camo as the main but it didn't turn out as well as hoped.

                                                               Here it is!

His little Rifle leaning up against the tree.

I wish this wasn't so blurry.. but my mom did Matt's face in his sleeping bag.. and the facial hair is exactly like his to a T!

You can see his little campfire. The fire is made out of melted sugar. It looked really neat. My mom did really good on the deers behind!

You can see that the little deer is watching Matt sleep. Ha Ha that turned into our little inside joke!

The little details were my favorite. the logs, rocks, and woodland creatures

Deer's little poops, Marshmallows, and camp fire

I also thought I would make some cupcakes. I made Little deer antler mounts and some guns!

You gotta start somewhere!

I love to be in the Kitchen! Baking and cooking are my most favorite things to do! This is why I started this blog. Not only is it going to be cakes but also yummy food! As much as I love to cook and bake I love to EAT! When I was young my aunt Cathy lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There she owned Gold Tooth Annie's. It was a home cooked meal restaurant. She made something new every night. It was DELICIOUS!  When I would go to visit I would help her in the kitchen to prepare the food. I also would wait tables.. being only 8years old. I loved it! This is where I found my passion for cooking! My aunt Cathy was an amazing woman and I have always looked up to her. She is no longer with us.. But will always be in my heart! Every time I put my apron on she always comes to mind. Her laughter, her smile, her kindness, and of course her food! She was so gifted and talented. She shared this gift with everyone around her and then some. Being in the kitchen is a stress reliever for me. Weird.. yes. But its where I unwind after a long day whether it be making dinner for my hubs or eating cookie dough from my kitchen aide bowl. I started out with cupcakes years ago. I own about 25 cupcake and cake cookbooks. Love them! Recently I have started making cakes and decorating them with homemade fondant! It tastes yummy and is fun to work with! My sister Alex had taught herself how to make and use the fondant. After seeing her make cute cakes I decided I wanted to learn! She helped me with the first cake I made and away I went! I have always hope to have my own cake shop. You gotta start somewhere right?!
